Plastek Werks Facility

Plastek Werks’ 18,000 square foot facility expansion has been completed, adding more fabrication capability to the existing 12,000 square foot shop. The 30,000 square foot facility is dedicated to all aspects of thermoplastic fabrication with an emphasis on plastic welding.

Included in the addition will be a complete plastic weld testing laboratory, adding to the current plastic welder education training program. Plastek Werks training, testing, and certification program allows each welder and customer the opportunity to evaluate plastic weld strength as it relates to critical applications involving safety, product quality, process function or reliability. The weld plays a key role in a plastic fabricated system, whether it involves piping, tanks, linings, or other mechanical applications.

Routine testing will be performed on individual welders to meet ASTM (American Society of Testing Materials), DVS (German Welding Society), and any applicable AWS (American Welding Society) requirements regarding plastic weld test evaluation. This will strengthen our existing weld inspection and consulting services.

Plastek Werks welding staff’s credentials are the core of our professional plastic welding program. Currently our staff is comprised of two (2) senior plastics welding educators, two (2) senior plastics welding inspectors, one (1) associate plastic welding educator, four (4) DVS certified plastics welders, and numerous company certified plastics welders.

Plastek Werks’ commitment to a national standards program here in the United States has been fueled by an awareness that individuals and shops across the US are performing plastic welding without any formal training and testing programs to verify weld performance. Long term weld performance improves dramatically when welders performing plastic welding procedures have been trained, tested, and certified by using proven test procedures. Plastek Werks welders have that training and our durable welds prove it.
