Linings

Applications

Large complex vessels, columns, hoods and other steel components are lined with adhesive bonded thermoplastics sheet linings. A variety of engineered resins are available. The vessel to the left is lined with Kynar® (PVDF) for superior corrosion resistance, as well as product purity in a fiber optic manufacturing process. Advanced adhesives are used to bond the fabric backed sheet to the steel, fiberglass or concrete substrates. Our skilled craftsmen weld all sheet lining seams to produce a continuous lining system.

Advantages

Adhesive bonded linings resist movement during thermal cycling and agitation. Using adhesive bonded lining systems with carbon steel offers cost effective solutions over more expensive alloys. Adhesive bonded sheet linings also offer superior release properties where product sticking or bridging is a problem.

Sheet lining is versatile in the fact that the work can be performed in our shop or on-site.

Material Selection

Sheet lining materials are available in standard thicknesses of 60, 90, and 120 mil. Custom thicknesses are available. All materials are manufactured in accordance with ASTM (American Society of Testing Materials) Standard Specifications. Welding is performed using DVS (German Welding Society) and AWS (American Welding Society) standards and testing criteria.

Sheet lining materials currently available are: E-CTFE, PVDF, ETFE, Polypropylene, Polyurethane, UHMW, FEP and PFA/Teflon®.
